We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Tim Silknitter of Gitt Construction Inc. to discuss how he first got into designing, building, and remodeling within the Omaha construction industry, as well as what makes our partnership with them worthwhile and what clients can expect when working with them…
Q: Can you tell me a little about your background and how long you have been in the industry?
A: “I have been in the commercial construction industry for the last 25 years, but the last 4 years I have been in the residential construction industry. I grew up in a family that did a lot of home real estate remodel projects. I also have a degree in architecture, so it just fits me to come back into my roots of home building and designing with emphasize on quality service and design.”
Q: Fireplace Stone & Patio’s Omaha location had the pleasure of partnering with Gitt Construction Inc. for a recent fireplace installation project. What would you highlight about the service we provided?
A: “[There are] 3 aspects we always look for when working with someone else. Number 1: service. The service with Fireplace Stone and Patio was first going into the showroom. There was a great selection and you were able to work with our client and designer. Number 2: the overall coordination of getting [everything] to the job site and making sure that we frame the fireplace correctly. Number 3: a simple installation process. For this installation, I met a gentleman here on site. He made sure we framed the space correctly, he made sure we had power and gas in the right place, and the next day the fireplace seemed to just magically appear in the space. So everything has been going very smoothly.”
Q: What makes Gitt Construction Inc. stand out from other remodeling companies in our area?
A: “We focus on design first. We want every home to be completely unique to that client. We want each client to feel like their space is their oasis–their getaway. We strive to make sure that we reach their high level of expectations, desires and dreams. Then coming back to the service aspect; we want to make every project fun & relatable for our clients. Home renovations are very stressful for owners, however, this is our everyday. So, our goal is to make it very easy for them and take that stress off their shoulders. With our team, whether it’s designers, project managers, or our field guys, we all know that this can be a stressful environment for [clients] so we just want to make it more enjoyable.”
Q: What can your clients expect when they choose to work with Gitt Construction Inc.?
A: “A little bit of humor, exceptional design – which is our key cornerstone -, on-time delivery, and very high-quality service. We really look at every aspect of our service whether it’s the schedule and time management or even things like dust control. Also, finding the right products for our customer’s needs. If we have a client who wants a gourmet kitchen, we ask important questions like will they be using the space everyday or is it more for the aesthetics rather than the functionality? We really take the time to understand their needs and desires.”
